New Peacekeepers browser benchmark

There is a new version of the Sysinternals Peacekeeper browser benchmarks. Besides nice pictures, it is also a test for experimental Canvas graphics, evaluated but not in the official assessment.

Here is a list of the most important results:

(all the details at http://spreadsheets.google.com/ccc?key=ro8suUR_xUNG9R7gHm_Il2A )

wins in the standings (again), Google Chrome, in the practical "Social Network" Category (which is an Ajax page to Facebook pattern simulated) but Opera in the lead. In general, the poor only by his performance in "Data" benchmark (active to digest of JavaScript arrays) reflected, while it may well be a bug in this alpha version. Nevertheless, Opera, together with the somewhat weaker Firefox 3.5, the attainments midfield, but this is a huge advantage of features more than offset.

far behind in all categories of Microsoft Internet Explorer, and this is the new version 8 already be twice as fast as the still widely used IE7.

Conclusion: towards better practice by the pure reference Javascript browsers Peacekeeper forces itself as a tool for assessing performance in the "Browser War" almost on. The results show that Internet Explorer is still hopelessly lagging behind all other products, and you are using a different browser in any case better off.
